There’s no getting away from the fact that the Q5 has been a huge success for Audi, and with similar success for Sportback models elsewhere in the German manufacturer’s line-up, it makes sense that its mid-size SUV gets the same treatment.
Having been refreshed earlier this year, the Q5 now features the latest technology that Audi has to offer, including a digital cockpit and stunning touchscreen infotainment system.
The incoming Q5 Sportback builds on the winning formula with Audi’s trademark sloping, coupe-style roofline already seen on the Q3 and e-tron SUVs.
Dimensions remain similar as the ‘standard’ Q5, and interior space isn’t much compromised, with room still for five occupants and a carrying capacity of 510 litres. That increases to 1480 litres with the rear seats folded down.
Audi Virtual Cockpit is on hand to give the driver every morsel of information required, while a panoramic 12.3-inch infotainment display is standard on all UK models, along with MMI Navigation Plus and Audi connect.
One diesel and two petrol powertrains will be available at launch, with a more potent V6 diesel to shortly follow. Plug-in TFSIe models will come later too.
