Frequently asked questions

You’ll need the vehicle’s V5 log book, as well as any service history. It also helps to have the vehicle’s handbook, its locking wheel nut, and both keys, though we can still give you a valuation if you’re missing one of the keys.

Unfortunately, we’re not able to purchase a vehicle that doesn’t have a V5 log book.

Fortunately, it’s easy to get a replacement, so if yours is missing, visit the Government’s website to apply for a new one.

Absolutely! If your vehicle has outstanding finance, all we’ll need is an up-to-date finance settlement letter and we’ll take care of the rest.

As soon as we’ve taken ownership of your vehicle, you can stop your insurance cover on the vehicle.

Yes, if there's some tax left.

Up until 2014, when you sold a car, any remaining road tax was transferred with the car, but that's no longer the case. Now, as soon as ownership is transferred to us, the DVLA will automatically issue you with a refund if there's tax left.

It’s important to remove any private or cherished plate before you sell your car to us, so just head over to the DVLA website to start the process as soon as you can.
