Mercedes-Benz has announced a new player in the hot hatch market, the AMG A35.
Starting at £35,580, the A35 is fitted with a turbocharged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 302bhp and 400Nm of torque.
Paired to a seven-speed sports automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive system, the A35 can hit 60mph in 4.5 seconds and reach an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph.
Mercedes say that the A35 can also achieve 38.7mpg and 167g/km CO2.
On top of the standard A-Class features – MBUX multimedia system with seven-inch touchscreen and instrument displays, active lane keeping and speed limit assist – the A35 comes with AMG 18-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension, performance braking system, exhaust system, radiator grille and leather sports steering wheel.
It also features a reversing camera, dynamic select driving modes, keyless-go and automatic climate control. If customers are looking for extra equipment, Mercedes offers four additional equipment packs to increase the spec of the A35. The £1,395 Executive pack adds a 10.25-inch media display, heated seats, parking package with active park assist, leather upholstery and power folding exterior mirrors.
The Premium line adds to the Executive pack with a 10.25-inch instrument display and up-rated sound system for £2,395, while the £3,895 Premium Plus pack adds a top of the line Burmester sound system, multibeam LED headlights with adaptive high beam and panoramic sunroof.
The Advanced Navigation, Connectivity and AMG Style packs are also on offer for customers.
Order books for the A35 are open now, with deliveries beginning in Spring 2019.
