Volkswagen is setting new standards in compact electric mobility with the upcoming ID. Polo, a next-generation EV that combines everyday practicality with iconic design and performance heritage. With battery options of 38kWh and 56kWh, the latter delivering a range of up to 280 miles - the ID. Polo ensures efficient, future-ready driving, supported by charging speeds of up to 125kW for added convenience.
Customers will be able to choose from four power levels, powered by a front-mounted motor. At the top of the range sits the 223bhp ID. Polo GTI - the first electric Volkswagen to proudly wear the legendary GTI badge, building on the momentum of last year’s ID. GTI concept.
The ID. Polo’s dimensions reflect its compact yet versatile character, measuring 4053mm long, 1816mm wide and 1530mm tall. This makes it only slightly larger than today’s petrol-powered Polo, and closely matched to rivals such as the Renault 4 EV.
Inside, the ID. Polo brings together digital innovation and everyday usability. A 12.9-inch infotainment display and a 10.9-inch driver display headline the technology, while physical switches for audio and climate controls ensure a simple and intuitive experience. Volkswagen is also committed to a more sustainable future, pledging to remove glue and hard plastics from its interiors to enhance quality while reducing environmental impact.
With the ID. Polo, Volkswagen is reimagining a much-loved icon for the electric age - balancing heritage, innovation and sustainability to shape the next chapter in compact electric driving.
The production version of the ID. Polo will arrive in dealerships in the coming years, further expanding Volkswagen’s all-electric ID. family.
