Total Loss Protection

Total Loss Protection

If your car were involved in an accident, stolen or damaged by fire and declared a total loss by your insurance provider, would you be financially protected?

Your motor insurance provider will usually pay out the vehicle's market value at the time of the loss, which could be less than you originally paid or still owe on finance.

This could leave you facing an unexpected financial shortfall at an already difficult time. Total Loss Protection is designed to give you added financial protection and greater peace of mind if the unexpected happens.

What is Total Loss Protection?

Contract hire

If you lease or contract hire your vehicle, Contract Hire Finance GAP helps cover the difference between your vehicle's insured value and the amount needed to settle your finance agreement if your vehicle is declared a total loss.

It can also help cover your initial rental payment and provide additional benefits to help with the costs following a total loss.

Return to invoice

If you've purchased your vehicle outright or using finance, Return to Invoice Insurance helps protect the amount you've paid for it.

If your vehicle is declared a total loss, it covers the difference between your insurer's pay-out and your original purchase price or outstanding finance settlement, whichever is greater.

This insurance policy is only available with chosen manufacturers, please enquire for details.

Before you accept any offer or valuation from a motor insurer, you must notify the administrator. If you accept an offer of settlement from the underwriters of the Motor Insurance Policy of less than the current Market Value of your vehicle before contacting the administrator, then we reserve the right to assess the loss at the current market value of the vehicle by reference to Glass’s Guide Retail Transacted value at the date of total loss.

You can manage your policy by creating a ‘MyPremia’ account with the Administrator by logging onto https://www.mypremia.co.uk/ and clicking ‘Register Account’. Your ‘MyPremia’ account will allow you to access your policy documents, update personal details and submit or manage a claim.
