Smart announces new base-level ‘pure’ trim

As a refresher to the range smart has introduced a new entry-level specification, which will be available on both the fortwo and forfour models.

The ‘pure’ trim enters the model line below the previous base ‘passion’ spec, and is priced at £9,995 for the fortwo and £10,940 for the forfour.

Fitted with a 1.0-litre, 71bhp petrol engine, the pure models also come with a five-speed manual gearbox, electric windows, remote locking and electrically-adjustable heated door mirrors. The models also come with black fabric upholstery, LED daytime running lights and height-adjustable driver’s seat and steering wheel.

Both models also come with smart Audio-System – including AM/FM radio, USB/AUX connection and Bluetooth telephone connectivity and media streaming – and safety systems, such as brake assist, crash sensor, cruise control with speed limiter and crosswind assist.

On the exterior pure models are available in nine exterior colours to go alongside the black tridion safety cell, black detailing and standard 15-inch silver steel wheels.

Both models are good options for urban drivers as they emit less than 100g/km CO2, have a combined mpg of 67.3 and thanks to their small wheelbase can nip in and around towns and cities with ease.

Models in the pure trim are available to order from your nearest JCT600 smart Centre now, with deliveries starting in July.
