The world’s first all-electric British hypercar has been unveiled at a glittering event in London.
The all-new Lotus Evija was revealed to more than 350 international media and VIP guests at an evening event at the Royal Horticultural Halls in the Victoria area of the capital.
With a fully electrified powertrain, the Evija is a bold statement from Lotus, illustrating the company’s confidence in battery-powered performance.
2000PS is promised from the Evija, which will make it the world’s most powerful series production car built for the road, and with a design that has been heavily guided by the need for aerodynamic performance, this is a vehicle with serious presence.
The design takes cues from some famous cars from Lotus’s past, while the gaping brake light rings are truly eye-catching.
Production of the Lotus hypercar will begin in 2020, with numbers limited to just 130 cars – a nod to the Evija’s Lotus Type number of 130.
The Evija will cost a cool £1.7million, and a production slot can be secured with a £250,000 deposit.
