When Bentley created the very first Bentley Bentayga, it was intended to redefine and reshape the world of luxury SUVs. And, three years later, they have done it again with the Bentayga Hybrid.
As the first luxury hybrid, it represents only the beginning of Bentley's journey into a world of electrically powered vehicles – and a bold, progressive move for Bentley.
The new Bentayga Hybrid employs an electric system alongside a newly developed V6 petrol engine, and will allow for 31 miles of pure-electric driving and helps make the Bentayga Hybrid the most efficient and environmentally friendly ever built.
The claimed emissions are just 75g/km CO2, and with three E modes to choose from, you select to drive the Bentayga PHEV in either EV drive, Hybrid and Hold modes. But even with the more fuel-efficient setup, you still get the same luxuries you would expect from a Bentayga, including leather upholstery, all mod cons and adaptive suspension that allows for off-roading and sportier driving.
Adrian Hallmark, chairman and chief executive officer of Bentley, said: “The Bentayga Hybrid is our first step on the road to electrification, combining traditional Bentley values with the very latest technologies. It gives customers the best of both worlds – engaging, effortless performance on the open road and silent, emission-free driving in the city, which will become increasingly important with the ever-changing regulations around the world.
“Following Bentley tradition, the Bentayga Hybrid pioneers a new automotive sector – the luxury hybrid – and sets Bentley on the path towards a sustainable electrified future.”
