MOT exemptions granted as part of the Government’s COVID-19 response measures will begin to expire in September, a time that is also traditionally the busiest period in the year for MOT tests.
For that reason, we’re anticipating an extremely busy time for MOT tests, with as many as twice the number of tests needing to take place during September, October and November.
To help tackle the rush, we’re encouraging customers whose vehicle received an MOT exemption to book their MOT test as soon as possible. As the law allows, customers can book their test up to one month minus a day before the MOT due date, while still retaining that original due date.
Getting your vehicle’s MOT test done at the earliest opportunity gives you the peace of mind that your vehicle is safe and roadworthy, especially important if your car or van has recently returned to regular use after lockdown.
Remember, too, that it is your legal responsibility as a vehicle owner to ensure your vehicle is safe to drive, and a vehicle is more likely to fail an MOT the longer it has been since its last test.
To book your MOT test, get in touch with the team at your local JCT600 dealership, and they’ll be happy to arrange a date and time that suits you. You'll also be able to take advantage of our interest-free, flexible payment options across all MOT and Servicing, giving you a helping hand to spread the cost of any unexpected work on your vehicle.
