At each of these events, you can expect to see sights such as the unveiling of brand-new models, or the teasing of cutting-edge concepts, as our industry rushes to evolve and innovate. You’ll also see upgrades to existing automotive favourites, and you might even get the opportunity to rediscover some of the world’s classic cars.
Depending on the event you go to, you might also get to see some of the world’s best drivers in competition, or at least showing off the latest and greatest metal.

Thursday 5th March – Sunday 15th March 2020
The Geneva Motor Show is one of the biggest in the automotive event calendar, and as a result, it’s highly anticipated by both industry experts and the general public. Brands not only showcase updates to existing models, but they also unveil new models that are set to hit the UK market.
For the 90th edition, GIMS have even created a brand new app for show-goers, with news and updates ahead of and during the event. It’ll also help you make the most of your limited time at the show, with its multiple halls and thousands of exhibitions. You can’t afford to miss anything!
Thursday 20th August – Sunday 23rd August 2020
That’s right – the iconic British Motor Show is returning, and according to show organisers, it’ll celebrate motoring of the past, present, and future, all tied up in a brand new format at a brand new location.
With a staggering six halls in total, there will be a heady mix of manufacturer exhibition, heritage vehicles, and cutting edge tech demos. Add to that entertainment for the whole family, and loads of celebrity faces, The British Motor Show will be one amazing event.
Saturday 13th – Sunday 14th June 2020
Taking place at the famous Circuit de la Sarthe in France, Le Mans 2020 will be the 88th running of a race that was first held all the way back in June 1923.
The event welcomes more than a quarter of a million spectators each year, so there certainly isn’t a shortage of atmosphere!
You can expect to witness skill, endurance, tactics and speed at this fun and exciting event. Be warned: it’s an addictive experience, with many people returning year after year!
Friday 17th – Sunday 19th July 2020
The long-standing spiritual home of the British Grand Prix, Formula 1 will be returning to Silverstone once again in 2020.
Held over a three-day weekend, it’s a true celebration of the world’s fastest motorsport. The best drivers in the most finely-tuned racing machines will be competing in this incredible motorsport event, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
If you want to get up close and personal, you can book a pit-walk to really explore the cars, or opt for a grandstand view where you can take in more of the track on qualifying and race days.
Thursday 9th – Sunday 12th July 2020
The Goodwood Festival of Speed – described as “motorsport’s ultimate summer garden party” – takes place in the South of England, on the beautiful Goodwood Estate near Chichester.
At the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed, you’ll see an array of colour and sounds, with the opportunity to get up close to some of the world’s most incredible cars, and celebrate the history of motorsport with hundreds of fellow enthusiasts.
North: Friday 24th – Sunday 26th July 2020
South: Friday 28th – Sunday 30th August 2020
Carfest takes place on two different dates and locations – Carfest North will be at the Bolesworth Estate in Cheshire, while Carfest South will take place at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire.
Carfest is the perfect event for car enthusiasts and their suffering families, with something on offer to suit everyone. From car exhibits and races, to live music and fairground rides, plus an array of different food and drink stands to choose from, this is one event not one to be missed, and all proceeds from the event even go to children’s charities.
Friday 13th – Sunday 15th November 2020
The Classic Motor Show takes place every year at the NEC in Birmingham and is one of the largest classic car shows of the year. There will be over 2,000 classic cars on display, along with hundreds of trade stands to explore.
This event is a great networking opportunity for car lovers and keen motorists, and is attended by some of the UK’s largest car clubs.
