SMART Repair Insurance

Small scratches, scuffs and dents are not only unsightly, but have a negative effect on the value of your car. In the past, cars in need of cosmetic repair would have been sent to a conventional body shop, meaning that you would be without your car while the repair work took place and potentially facing a large bill. Thankfully, many small scratches, scuffs and dents can be repaired using SMART techniques.

SMART Repairs will be conducted by a trained repair technician at a time convenient to you.

SMART Repair Insurance allows you to ensure your vehicle looks as good as new by repairing minor bumps and scratches as they happen.

Eligibility

  • You must be 18 years of age or over and the resident in the UK, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man
  • The vehicle must not be an emergency or commercial vehicle, or be used for dispatch, hire and reward, driving school tuition, chauffeuring, road racing, track days (timed or untimed), rallying, pace-making, speed testing or any other competitive event.
  • You must have purchased the policy from the supplying dealer no later than 30 days after purchasing the vehicle.

What's covered?

  • Unlimited number of SMART Repairs, limited to £1,000 per claim including VAT and £3,000 including VAT in total
  • Minor stone chips, up to 3mm in diameter and 1.5mm in depth
  • Minor dents to a metal body panel, not exceeding 30cm in diameter
  • Minor scratches, up to 1.5mm in depth and not exceeding 30cm in length
  • Scuffed bumper, which is less than 30cm in diameter and less than 3mm in depth
  • A contribution of up to £250 including VAT towards a Bodyshop repair, where the minor cosmetic damage is not repairable using SMART Repair technique

What's Not Covered?

  • Any minor cosmetic damage which is not reported within 30 days of the incident
  • Damage to the roof, bonnet, saloon not top or any horizontal surface where the Approved Repairer deems it not possible to achieve a satisfactory finish using SMART Repair.
  • Where the body panel, bumper or wing mirror is ripped, perforated, cracked or torn or there is damage to the structure and/or alignment. For a copy of the full terms and conditions, please contact your supplying dealership.

How to make a claim

You can manage your policy by creating a ‘MyPremia’ account with the Administrator by logging onto https://www.mypremia.co.uk/ and clicking ‘Register Account’. Your ‘MyPremia’ account will allow you to access your policy documents, update personal details and submit or manage a claim.
