As one of the most successful compact cars in the world, the Volkswagen Polo has been a key component of the German brand’s range for over 40 years.
Now, VW has unveiled the latest version of the mini hatchback in the guise of the Mk 6 – the largest and most technologically advanced model in the marque’s history.
The exterior design has been sharpened and appears more dynamic than before, while the interior has also been completely reworked to be more spacious and simpler to use. The Active Info Display has also been fitted, which sits behind the steering wheel in the instrument binnacle.
VW offers five different trim levels – Trendline, Comfortline, Highline, Beats and GTI – so you can find the right Polo for you and with nine different power options – including a 198bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 1.0-litre natural gas unit – there are plenty of alternatives in terms of power and feel.
This Polo is also 80mm longer and 70mm wider than the previous generation making it much more spacious inside, despite the compact nature of the model.
New safety systems have also been fitted to the Polo, including front assist, city emergency braking, blind spot detection and park assist with braking function.
From the base spec Trendline, VW fits a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display, LED daytime running lights and a speed limiter, as well as many of the safety systems previously mentioned.
The sixth generation Polo will be on sale from October this year, and to stay up to date with the new compact model, contact your nearest JCT600 Volkswagen dealership
