Despite not yet being on sale, Volkswagen’s upcoming all-electric hatchback is already winning prestigious awards.
The ID.3 – expected to hit UK shores in early 2020 – was named as the ‘Most Wanted’ at this year’s carwow awards.
Chosen by the website’s in-house editorial team, and led by renowned motor journalist Mat Watson, the ID.3 was identified for its mass appeal and high levels of anticipation in the general public.
The all-electric hatchback will be available with three range options, in addition to three charging speeds, with up to 342 miles [WLTP] and 125kW possible.
In addition to eco-friendly credential on the road, Volkswagen have also committed to making the manufacture of the ID.3 a carbon-neutral process too, with carbon off-setting and a green energy provider.
Since pre-orders opened in May 2019, VW have received more than 30,000 deposits, with 10,000 of those received within the first 24 hours.
