Vauxhall has released details of its latest SUV model, the Mokka X, which brings the new ‘X’ segment identifier to the company’s future SUV and crossover models.
This new Mokka brings an updated interior and exterior design, alongside new powertrains, Vauxhall’s new OnStar personal connectivity and service assistant system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto infotainment software.
In the ever-competitive compact SUV market, this updated Mokka will hope to continue the success of the standard model, which has now sold over 120,000 and is currently the ninth most sold car in the UK in 2016.
The X 1.4-litre Direct Injection Turbo 152PS petrol is brought in with either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox, helping to get 47.1mpg and 140g/km of CO2 emissions.
With an Astra-inspired dashboard, the revised instrument panel looks sleeker, and is more precise and easier to use than the previous Mokka console.
Coming with all-wheel drive, Vauxhall has included different drive modes to allow for differing driving conditions. The smart system can adapt to the differing road conditions, which can assist the driver in fuel consumption without compromising the driving experience.
The OnStar system turns the Mokka X into a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot with 4G LTE connection that allows up to seven devices to use the service, such as smartphones and tablets.
The new Mokka X will be in showrooms from October, with prices starting from £17,590 for the petrol models, while the diesel versions start from £19,515.
