The futuristic Mercedes-Benz F 015 research vehicle provides us with an insight into how self-driving could become a platform for mobile living space, by enabling more communication and interaction whilst out on the road, as well as a more pleasurable driving experience when in situations where driving can be tedious such as slow-moving traffic.
In the Mercedes-Benz F 015 passengers are able to use their newly gained free time to either work or relax as they wish, and not only does the car provide a care-free pleasurable driving experience, it also looks and plays the part too. The exterior boasts a very futuristic and stylish appearance, with its sleek and sculpted bodyshell structure, and on the inside the luxury lounge provides passengers with the ultimate luxurious experience and comfort levels for the journey.
The luxury lounge includes a rotating lounge-style seating system that allows for face-to-face interaction, and hosts a range of organic materials such as walnut wood shaped into a three-dimensional veneer, soft ice-white nappa leather with contrasting metal and glass surfaces to complete the cool and modern look and feel.
The interior also hosts an innovative concept with six digital displays installed all around the vehicle’s living space, where passengers are able to interact with the connected vehicle through signalling or by touching the hi-resolution display screens.
The Mercedes-Benz F 015 vehicle body structure is strong and secure, ensuring optimum safety and comfort levels for passengers. It also has a door concept designed for ease of access due to the special rotating lounge seat configuration.
The electric hybrid vehicle has a total range of 1,100 kilometres of zero-emission driving, including almost 200 kilometres of battery-powered driving and around 900 kilometres on electricity provided through the fuel cell. This system allows for the Mercedes-Benz F 015 to cover longer distances, similar to those of a diesel-powered car.
