When it comes to stylish and practical city cars, smart is the first name that should spring to mind.
Now this is more appropriate than ever as the fortwo
models have been updated for 2016.
The major change to the line-up is the introduction of the BRABUS trim, which adds sporty styling to both the 90hp fortwo and forfour models to make it look more dynamic. New BRABUS alloy wheels, front splitter, rear apron and sports steering wheel are the main changes when you choose the BRABUS sport line models, with interior detailing such as the rubber-studded brushed aluminium pedals.
The Premium equipment line has been reduced in price and now costs only ?845 to add, whilst the Premium Plus pack, at ?1,345, includes ambient lights, LED head and tail lights, fog lamps with cornering function and a rear reversing camera. Both packs include the contents of the Comfort Package, which include the height-adjustable driver’s seat, electrically heated and adjustable mirrors and height-adjustable steering wheel, which is worth ?295 on its own.
Beyond the additional packs, the standard range has been revamped. The passion model now comes with the smart audio system, automatic climate control, a three-spoke multifunctional leather steering wheel and 15-inch eight-spoke silver alloys.
A further addition is the twinamic six-speed DCT gearbox, which is now available to the whole range for a ?995 fee.
With some other minor tweaks to detailing, the rejuvenated smart range starts from ?11,125 for the fortwo passion coupe, with the forfour passion starting from ?11,620.
