British manufacturer Lotus has revealed its latest and most powerful road-going vehicle yet – the Evora GT430.
Fitted with a 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 430bhp, this latest Evora model is capable of reaching 190mph and getting from 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds.
With newly designed body panels – including a new front splitter and wing – to help keep weight down and improve downforce at speed, the GT430 weighs just 1,258kg and at top speed can produce 250kg of downforce to help your car stick to the tarmac.
Continuing Lotus’s ethos of taking away weight to help improve the overall performance of the car and not just outright speed, the GT430 is 26kg lighter than the Evora Sport 410, which helps to improve cornering and in turn just how much it can take advantage of its power.
All of the upgrades result in the fastest time an Evora has lapped around the Lotus test track in Hethel for with a time of 1:25.8 – which is just as quick as the Lotus 3-Eleven, the brand’s fastest ever car.
The GT430 also comes with a six-speed manual gearbox with a low-inertia flywheel for quicker gear changes, a limited-slip differential for better traction, and dynamic stability modes so you can set up the car as you like it. AP Racing brakes are also fitted to offer the best stopping power.
Inside the carbon-fibre theme from the exterior bodywork continues with the Sparco sports seats backed in the material, while for comfort the steering wheel, seats and door panels are decked out in a mixture of perforated leather and Alcantara.
So as not to be completely spartan the GT430 also comes with a touchscreen infotainment system, satellite navigation, a reversing camera and iPod and Bluetooth connectivity.
CEO of Lotus Cars Jean-Marc Gales said: “The Evora GT430 is a landmark car for Lotus. Lightweight engineering and class-leading handling, paired with Lotus’ aerodynamic expertise, define the Evora GT430 as a legendary Lotus.
“It’s a truly beautiful car, meticulously finished in hand-crafted carbon, and employing the latest aerodynamics and lightweight materials. This highly developed vehicle perfectly reflects Lotus’ attention to engineering and design. We expect the lucky owners to be blown away by its pure presence and staggering performance.”
