In remembrance of the world-famous Lotus Espirit S1 that appeared in the James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me, Lotus
has commissioned a one-off Evora 410 that features many elements of the renowned Bond car.
With the Evora Sport 410, Lotus has given the widely admired model a touch of Bond magic in the film’s 40th anniversary year, including the red tartan interior trim, the Espirit-style decal on the body and the famous white and black body colours.
Unlike the Espirit, the Evora Sport has a 410bhp, 3.5-litre six-cylinder engine, which helps the lightweight sports car get from 0-60mph in just 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 190mph.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with submarine capabilities and the Bond gadgets that the exquisite Espirit did, so the owner will have to make do with superb cornering capabilities and excellent performance instead.
CEO of Group Lotus plc, Jean-Marc Gales, said: “So many of us recall the impact of the Lotus Esprit when it hit the big screen in The Spy Who Loved Me, and we wanted to honour that with a special Evora Sport 410.
“It’s the perfect tribute to such an influential Lotus, but a world away in terms of its abilities and performance. Supremely fast and agile, rivals’ cars look overweight and underpowered in comparison. Lotus was founded on the principle of lightweight engineering and, even today, nobody does it better.”
For many what is the quintessential Bond car, the Evora Sport 410 does a remarkable and excellent job of remembering the superb Espirit.
