JCT600 were pleased to be part of a motor industry panel at this year’s Automotive 30% Club Annual Conference, with discussions focussing on how an approach of flexibility can facilitate further progress in addressing the gender balance.
Taking part in the panel, company CEO, John Tordoff, commented about how the industry can embrace a more flexible approach to working hours and individual roles, to ensure that colleagues can enjoy an environment in which they can flourish and prosper. He described specific examples of positive flexible working models at JCT600.
John added: “Creating a workplace that is conducive to success starts at the top, but it’s also important that our values and ambitions are perpetuated by managers at every level of the business. Ultimately, we’re responsible for creating an environment where colleagues can be their best, and it’s important we acknowledge and value that responsibility.”
The panel also debated what was needed to make the automotive industry as attractive as possible to women generally, and John also spoke about how JCT600 colleagues had participated in a school visit programme to directly engage female students.
JCT600 joined the Automotive 30% Club in January 2019, and are proud to support the Club’s commitment to achieving a better gender balance in the automotive sector.
