Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming Audi A1 2018

The Audi A1 is the smallest model in the brand’s line-up and offers plenty of practicality despite the size.

It comes with the excellent interior finish that you expect from all Audi models and it has a great range of engines to make it a desirable model in the compact sector.

After its introduction in 2010, the A1 is still in its first generation and comes in both the three-door and five-door Sportback models – leading to more than 700,000 sales.

But the 2018 model is on the horizon and it is due to be bigger than the first generation, as well as being more luxurious.

The new version has been seen out testing and it appears the looks will fit in-line with the rest of the new Audi range – including a new larger grille like the Q2, which is likely to be a major inspiration for the new A1 on the inside as well.

Engine-wise, 1.0-litre and 1.4-litre petrol units will likely be the options ranging up to around 150bhp, while the sporty S1 should have in excess of 230bhp. More likely than not, the A1 will get a six-speed manual and seven-speed DSG automatic ‘box.

Like the current model, prices should start from £15,000 with three to four trim levels. The top-end S1 will have an asking price of £25,000.
