Mercedes-Benz have taken the covers off a new member of their SUV family, with the GLB slotting in between the compact GLA and the larger GLC models.
The German car manufacturer describe the proportions of the all-new GLB as 'powerful', and the minimal overhangs at front and rear speak of a vehicle that has been designed for off-roading as well as on-roading.
Despite compact dimensions - the wheelbase is just over 2.8m - the GLB boasts up to three rows of seats, accommodating up to seven people, as well as impressive load-carrying capacity.
Efficient diesel and petrol four-cylinder engines provide power, while optional 4MATIC all-wheel drive ensures the GLB isn't halted when the going gets tough.
One in every three vehicles sold by Mercedes-Benz is an SUV, so it should be no surprise that their latest release is one in this sector.
That the new GLB also has the hallmarks of an off-roader makes it something different, and with a look that's as cute as it is chunky, the GLB promises to be the ideal choice for many.
The Mercedes-Benz GLB will be available later in the year.
