A six month project, representing an investment of over £1m to redevelop our Bentley dealership in Leeds
is well underway, with the first phase of the energy-efficient showroom now complete.
Leodis Court on Gelderd Road has been the home of Bentley for almost 20 years, during which time the showroom has undergone a number of refurbishments, the most recent of which was in 2008. Since then, the business has seen huge growth with the launch of many new models such as the Bentayga SUV and consequently it now requires additional space to showcase the extended range.
The redevelopment will significantly increase the size of the showroom area providing space for nine new and 11 pre- owned Bentleys with a further 10 vehicles displayed on the forecourt. Comprising two mirror image showrooms with a central drive through, the dedicated showroom for new cars is now complete and work is about to start on the second showroom for pre-owned vehicles. The work is being undertaken in two stages in order to cause the least disruption to customers.
The new space features cutting edge lighting and temperature control systems which can be remotely controlled to reduce energy costs and improve environmental efficiency as well as providing a more comfortable experience for visitors. Customers will also benefit from a dedicated specification lounge area and an 80” TV on which to configure a bespoke new Bentley to their individual requirements. The project is due to be finished by mid December.
“In the eight years since our last major refit, the Bentley brand has worked tirelessly, along with its retail network, to be the best luxury motor car retailer in the world and has brought to market a fourth model line with the introduction of the Bentayga SUV,” explains Michael Carr, head of business for Bentley Leeds. “By utilising an upper mezzanine floor to create a sales office, the new car display floor space has been increased by around 15% and a new suite of offices has been created for the aftersales team.
“In line with our ambitions, a new corporate identity was launched to create an exceptional retail environment for our customers and this is reflected in our refurbished Bentley Leeds dealership. The greatest impact will be the new furniture and modular customer areas; whether relaxing with a coffee while browsing the latest range of Bentley clothing and lifestyle products or configuring a new car, customers will find everything beautifully displayed and at their fingertips.”
To celebrate the completion of phase one, a number of customers and local businesses were given the opportunity to drive simulated laps of the Nurburgring in a virtual Bentley GT3-R on October 5th. The best timed lap will be recognised with a VIP trip to Germany to drive a Bentley for real at the legendary circuit.
