e-Golf Tees off Volkswagen's Electric Plans

Released in 2015 the e-Golf has stayed rather quiet up until now, being brought to our attention in the light of the growing popularity of electric and hybrid cars.

Offering a range of up to 144 miles according to the WLTP you can charge the battery up to 80% in just 40 minutes according to Volkswagen. Reaching 0-62mph in 9.6 seconds, the electric motor’s performance isn’t compromised. Whilst the one-speed gearbox promises a smooth acceleration.

Featuring the typical Golf qualities we all know and love, including a rear view camera, heated rear windscreen, automatic dimming rear view mirror, 8" colour touch screen, brake pad wear indicator warning light and body colour door mirrors with integrated indicators.

In support of the environmental focus the automatic e-Golf also features LED technology headlights to offer maximum illumination at a low rate of consumption, aerodynamically designed Tieeve 16-inch alloy wheels designed with ‘rolling resistance technology’ to reduce power required for an efficient drive and battery regeneration during braking to save battery life, keeping you going for longer.

The e-Golf follows the GTE plug-in-hybrid electric model, alongside the smaller electric model of the Volkswagen family the e-up!

Prices for the e-Golf start from £29,230
