BMW release details of next generation M5 2018

The BMW M5 is an icon of the motoring world and to join the latest generation the German brand has revealed details of the latest version of the sport saloon.
Seen by many as ‘the’ sport saloon to buy, the upcoming M5 is a continuation of the great models before it and includes the latest in BMW’s engine and chassis technology to make sure it is better than ever.
For the sixth generation M5, BMW has installed its newest turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 engine that includes M TwinPower Turbo technology, which has helped to increase power and torque output for even more addictive and instantaneous performance. It is paired with an eight-speed M steptronic semi-automatic transmission (which has a much shorter shift time than before) and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system that offers excellent levels of grip in all conditions.
All of these factors have helped to make this latest M5 faster than any before it, with both the 0-60mph and 0-100mph times being shortened significantly from the Mk V.
The interior has also been reworked to be clearer and more user-friendly than ever, with the instrument binnacle including two conventional dials and a digital speedometer. The cockpit is also more driver-orientated than before, with extra features including a head-up display and the latest iDrive system and controller.
With the improved engine comes decent fuel economy and emissions – considering the performance on offer – and the M5 can return 26.9mpg and 241g/km CO2.
More information about the next generation M5 will be revealed in due course, to stay up to date with the model’s progress, contact JCT600 BMW Bradford or register your interest.
