To complete the brand’s SUV line-up and introduce its new design ethos, Seat has revealed the Tarraco.
Named after the Spanish city of Tarragona on the Mediterranean coast, the Tarraco sits above both the Ateca and Arona models, and comes with either five or seven seats.
Coming with a sharper front-end design compared to other Seat models, the Tarraco will provide the basis for future cars by the Spanish manufacturer and will be available in two trim levels – SE and Xcellence.
From launch, customers will be able to choose from two diesel and two petrol power options – with power outputs of 148bhp or 187bhp. Seat plans to provide alternatively-fuelled powertrains in the future.
Six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmissions are on offer, as well as either front- or all-wheel drive options.
The Tarraco has been fitted with plenty of safety kit, including lane assist, front assist and pedestrian and cyclist detection, while blind spot detection, traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, adaptive cruise control and emergency assist are all optional features.
Seat uses LED lighting throughout so its designers could have more flexibility, including angular front lights and dynamic rear indicators.
The interior features a 10.25-inch digital instrument display that works alongside an eight-inch floating infotainment display, which can be paired with gesture control – a first for SEAT
