Along with the stylish all-new 208, Peugeot have introduced an all-electric version – the smartly-named e-2008.
It has the same funky looks and five-door hatchback versatility of the conventional engine-powered car, but with the advantages that a fully electric powertrain brings. You can expect instant acceleration, for example, and incredibly low-cost motoring.
The 50kWh on-board battery provides 136bhp and immediate responsiveness from a standstill, and plugged in to a fast chargepoint, can recover 80% of charge in just 30 minutes. It’s good for 217 miles of range too, so you’ll never need to think about plugging in when it’s not convenient.
There are three driving modes, giving you choice over performance or extended range, plus two braking modes to give you control over battery regeneration and deceleration performance. Go for ‘Increased’, and you can enjoy true one-pedal driving. Simply ease off the throttle pedal and the e-2008 will slow as if the brake pedal was depressed. Handy for getting the most out of a charge!
Six airbags are fitted throughout the cabin, and the e-2008 comes with Peugeot's new-generation ESP stability controls as standard on all models. Peugeot Connect SOS and Peugeot Connect Assistance are also included, allowing for quick emergency calls to be made if you’re involved in or witness an incident.
