The all-electric BMW i3 is the world’s first ever series production model designed with sustainability at the heart and soul of production - generating zero emissions and no nasty odours. And not only is it a green car, but it is agile and punchy with an acceleration of 7.2 seconds to reach from 0-100km.
The BMW i3 when fully charged has a range of up to 160 km, meaning it is ideal for day-to-day activities and standard journeys, and requires a re-charge every three to four days. Charging is easy too and takes care of itself - simply use the time the vehicle is parked or overnight at home with a standard charging cable or the BMW I Wallbox.
The BMW i3 is an unbelievable 95% recyclable - made up of sustainable materials such as Kenaf; a lightweight material extracted from the mallow plant for the larger interiors surfaces; 50% pure new cool for the seat covers, and also Eucalyptus and 100% olive-leaf tanned leather for interior trim.
The design of the BMW i3 has also been well thought through - with a compact electric motor at the rear creating space at the front of the vehicle both inside the car and also for the wheel positioning. As the wheels are positioned further forward, they are easier to park and much more manoeuvrable. Furthermore, inside the BMW i3 there is no centre pillar between the front and back seats, making the car seem much more spacious.
