The Audi e-tron is the German manufacturer’s first electric-only model, and is aimed
squarely at the higher end of the electric car market.
The e-tron is available as a five-door SUV only, but that does mean you’ll be getting
a car that’s big on space and comfort – perfect for short dashes to the shops as
well as longer journeys.
The design of the e-tron’s interior and exterior is modern, and Audi have focussed on

The company’s renowned MMI system takes care of navigation and entertainment, while
the digital dashboard ensures the driver has all the information they need close at
Audi’s electric SUV sports a body that is streamlined and aerodynamic, and the
optional Virtual Door Mirrors – a camera system that replaces the traditional wing
mirrors – reduces the car’s drag coefficient even further.
The result is a car that slips through the air with minimal effort, meaning that the
single-charge range of the e-tron is impressive right across the line-up.
The ‘standard’ e-tron and the high spec Launch Edition boast a driving range of up to
241 miles on the WLTP cycle, and performance that propels the car to the benchmark
62mph in less than six seconds.
That impressive performance comes from a 95kWh battery mounted below the passenger
compartment, which produces 300kW [402bhp] of power that is routed to all four
The e-tron comes with driver aids such as Lane Departure Warning and Rear View Camera
as standard, while the Launch Edition adds extra styling cues, Matrix LED headlights
and a panoramic sunroof to the list of included kit.
An entry-level e-tron 50 will also be available after a short time into the model’s
life-cycle, making the electric SUV a more affordable prospect for drivers looking
to move into the world of EV ownership.
The e-tron 50 will have a single-charge range of 186 miles, though maximum charging
speed will be 120kW, as opposed to the 150kW capability of the standard e-tron.
Regardless, all e-trons are capable of reaching 80% charge in just 30 minutes, with a
full charge coming in just 50 minutes when connected to the fastest compatible
