Aston Martins have long been serious objects of desire. Unrivalled British heritage mixed with exotic good looks, there’s a very good reason an Aston is high on the wish-list of many a petrolhead.
But what is it exactly that makes this gorgeous convertible great?
Read on for 5 things we think you’ll love about the Aston Martin Vantage Roadster…
1 | The folding soft top
‘Roadster’ can only mean one thing, and that is roofless motoring. Proper wind-in-the-hair stuff, but – in the case of the Vantage – with a soundtrack that’ll have you reaching for the ‘off’ button on the stereo.
The roof operates at speeds of up to 30mph, and takes less than 7 seconds to go up or down, making it the fastest in its class. That means you won’t be caught out by those unexpected British downpours!
2 | The all-new vaned front grille
Aston Martin came in for some stick when they first revealed the new Vantage. Some fans weren’t totally sold on the design of the front-end grille [even though it looked pretty good to us…], so Aston decided to change it up for this latest revision.
The new ‘vaned’ front grille gives the Vantage a huge presence, with its gaping mouth sucking up all the air that the V8 engine can handle. Plus, it looks like a shark, which can only be a good thing…
3 | The legendary 4.0-litre V8
We can’t believe we’ve waited until the third point on this list either. But here we are to talk about *that* engine.
503bhp, 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds, and a sound that could wake the dinosaurs. The 4.0-litre twin-turbo engine under the hood just sings, and we can’t help smiling about it. Can you really blame us?
4 | The little touches of opulence
At the end of the day, an Aston Martin is a luxury product with a pricetag to match. It’s no surprise, then, that there are fine materials and luxurious touches throughout the cabin.
The steering wheel is wrapped in the finest leather, and the switchgear arranged in the centre console is an exercise in opulence. We could [we did] spend all day in it…
5 | Q Exclusive paint colours
Premium, expensive paint isn’t the reserve of supercar manufacturers anymore, but Aston Martin just seem to get it so right.
The Platinum White finish on this particular car made the sunlight its plaything, but it isn’t the only paint colour in Aston Martin’s Q range. There are 24 others, in fact, from delicious reds to lustrous golds, and even some classic green and blue hues too. Try them out for yourself, and let us know which one you’d pick…
