The Meriva balances a striking exterior with a clever design to suit your everyday requirements. Offers clever solutions to common problems, in addition to a smooth yet powerful ride and multifarious driver convenience features, it is the perfect all-purpose family vehicle.
A V-shaped grille, "winged" lights and revamped side bodywork give the Meriva an attractive shape, in addition to a sophisticated, "grown-up" character. There are nine colour options for the exterior, including a stunning Summit White and a sporty Flame Red. The FlexDoors on the Meriva have a rear hinge rather than the front hinge normally seen, making the loading of such commonplace items as pushchairs and child seats an easy task. The flowing curves from the exterior are echoed in the Meriva’s cabin. This creates an individual style as well as providing convenient storage for all of your family’s gear.
The Meriva’s organiser system delivers an interior that is practical for a family. Included in the modular system are rails fitted as standard to the side walls of the luggage compartment, storage boxes, nets, hooks and many other components to configure your boot. The panoramic glass sunroof floods the cabin with natural light, enhancing the sense of space. Not that room for passengers or provisions is lacking at all in this model - the 397 litres of loadspace can be extended to a commodious 1,496 litres when the rear seats are folded forward.
The most environmentally friendly and economic engine is the 1.6 CDTI 108bhp engine. This features a start/stop system that shuts down your engine when in neutral and automatically restarts it when you set off again, cutting CO2 emissions to just 99g/km and combined fuel consumption to 74.3mpg. A five- or six-speed manual helps keep progress smooth as you speed up on motorway slip roads or whilst overtaking. For safety and convenience there is the hill start assist. This will hold your car still when you move off from a hill and it will automatically release the electric parking brake once you’re underway.
Meanwhile, to make driving at night less stressful the Meriva comes with the option for adaptive forward lighting. This projects the headlamp beam’s into curves, giving you extra illumination as you negotiate tight corners. The Vauxhall also has front, side and curtain airbags, active front headrests and double seat belt pre-tensioning to keep you and your family safe while driving.
