MINI has designed the Countryman range in order to bring the signature MINI style to the crossover SUV market. With greater capacity for luggage and storage than other MINI models, the Countryman range is perfect for families and suited for both the city and the country. Motorists can choose from the MINI One, Cooper, Cooper S and John Cooper Works Countryman models.
The MINI Countryman is the largest model in the range, and its road presence is boosted by the prominent radiator grille and (optional) LED fog lights. Additional features to the exterior include design elements on the front and rear aprons, and side skirts that have been made to resemble an underride guard. Four-wheel drive is also available for drivers who frequently go off-road, or who just wish for even more stability and traction in treacherous conditions or on bad road surfaces.
The interior of the Countryman has a huge amount of interior flexibility, as well as storage and luggage space. The body of the Countryman has been extended in order to accommodate its five passengers, and allows for luggage capacity from 350 litres all the way up to 1,170 litres if desired. A range of different trim colours and upholstery options allow the motorist ample scope for personalisation. The Countryman features a three-part seat bench within, providing either luxuriant legroom for occupants or abundant loadspace. Regarding in-car technology, the Countryman uses the manufacturer's Connected system, which offers vital drive information, Dynamic Music and app-ready capabilities.
The Countryman boasts an extensive range of four petrol and three diesel engines, depending on the model chosen. All motors provide more than enough power to deliver the turn of pace and agility for which MINI vehicles are renowned, with the most powerful of all being the 218hp John Cooper Works unit, capable of taking the Countryman from 0-62mph in seven seconds. Alternatively, the most frugal edition - combined fuel consumption can reach 64.2mpg, and CO2 emissions can be as low as 115g/km.
Motorists can feel safe in the Countryman, as it has been awarded the five-star Euro NCAP safety award. The Countryman vehicles all arrive with six airbags as standard, with driver and passenger airbags to protect the head and upper body, and side and head airbags to provide additional protection. There is the option for two ISOFIX child seat attachments, and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) works with the Hill Start Assist feature to make every driving situation as controlled as possible.
