Mercedes-Benz has designed the E-Class range with the express purpose of making life easier for its drivers. The E-Class is available as a saloon, estate, Coupé or Cabriolet, allowing motorists to decide on the level of comfort in the style of vehicle that suits them best. Each model features the unmistakable level of production expected from Mercedes-Benz, as well as a raft of safety systems and multimedia suites to make every journey safe, comfortable, and entertaining.
Sharp lines define the refined look of the saloon and estate models, giving them a truly dynamic look. Bold details mix with the classic elegance of previous generations of the E-Class, meaning that each model is just as eye-catching as the rest in the range. Providing a sweeping and athletic profile, the Coupé and Cabriolet models are eager to display their striking design to the world. Customisation options are also available for all models, including the colours of the soft top for the Cabriolet.
Mercedes-Benz has ensured that the same design philosophies that apply to the outside of the vehicles have also carried through to the interior, too. Should the estate be chosen, the driver gets to take advantage of outstanding load capacity, while the Coupé and Cabriolet provide under-the-bonnet suspension technology.
All models give the maximum level of comfort and sophistication, with dark aluminium trim decorating the interior of each model. Multimedia functions are provided by the COMAND Online system with media interface and DAB digital radio tuner, enabling the use of any ambient sound you wish. Ambience can also come by way of the mood lighting, which has three different colours that can be used depending on the driving mode.
Engine statistics vary depending on the model chosen, with the E-Class range offering a number of powerful petrol and diesel engines. 0-62mph acceleration times can be as low as 4.1 seconds in the case of the E63 AMG S petrol engine. On the other hand, combined fuel consumption and CO2 output for the range can be as little as 68.9mpg and 107g/km from the diesel hybrid E 300 BlueTEC engine.
Intelligent Drive technologies ensure that the driver and passengers are safe at all times, automatically protected from the effects of driver fatigue. Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control with Steering Assist maintains full control of the vehicle through adjusting to neighbouring vehicles, and Lane-Keeping Assist prevents the car from moving into undesired lanes in motorway situations.
