The Maserati GranTurismo upholds a 60-year tradition of Maserati installing race engines in roadgoing cars. Through this innovation, Maserati has remained at the forefront of developing dynamic and desirable performance cars, instilling its inimitable character into each high-performance vehicle. The GranTurismo has been created with a distinct personality, as well as a unique blend of power and elegance.
The exterior of the GranTurismo has been engineered to appear muscular and yet fluid, with natural lines bringing the visual impression of the vehicle together in an impressive union of style. Maserati's meticulous aerodynamic studies have ensured that the GranTurismo has a streamlined and speed-orientated design, with finishing touches made in wind tunnel tests. The front of the vehicle is dominated by the oval radiator grille with horizontal headlights, which are supported by LED Daytime Running Lights integrated within the bumpers. The three air intakes on the bonnet emphasise the Maserati's classic style, and the radical side skirts highlight the surround of the vehicle. At the rear a wide aerodynamic diffuser spreads across the lower bumper.
Prestige and refinement are carried through to the GranTurismo's interior, with the 'V' motif of the marque putting emphasis on the exclusive nature of the vehicle. Charismatic detailing shows the master craftsmanship that has gone into producing the GranTurismo, including subtle chrome rings that decorate the buttons on the dashboard and steering wheel. The seat headrests feature the hand-crafted Trident logo, and tactile Alcantara forms the trim lining of the cabin.
The three-spoke sports steering wheel is leather-covered and ergonomically designed, providing the driver with full control of the technological and entertainment systems of the vehicle. The multimedia functions are also broadcast through the seven-inch screen of the Maserati Multimedia System, which is positioned in the centre of the dashboard. The GranTurismo is powered by a 4.2 litre V8 engine. Due to its vigorous 405hp of power and maximum torque of 460Nm at 4750rpm, the model can reach 0-60mph in 5.2 seconds and has a top speed of 177mph.
