The Lotus Evora continues the development philosophy that Lotus has put into its vehicles since the company was formed, over 60 years ago. Lotus prides itself on efficient use of parts, a perfectly balanced chassis, and a tactile and involving spirit – all qualities that are evident in the Evora of today. Lotus has designed the Evora to provide an all-encompassing sensory experience, with feedback transmitted from the road through the vehicle directly to the driver to provide a truly exhilarating response.
The exterior of the Evora is sleek and streamlined, giving smooth visual feedback from every angle. The distinctive headlights use bi-xenon lights as standard, and the rear brake clusters utilise instantly recognisable LED technology. The integrated boot spoiler combines purpose and style, and the free-flowing exhaust system features a special bypass valve in order to increase the power output and change the exhaust note. Lightweight alloy wheels are available in a variety of different patterns, and range in size from 18" to 20".
The interior combines luxury with practicality. Machined aluminium highlights the interior, giving contrast to the hand-trimmed and twin-stitched leather upholstery. The seats themselves are sculpted Recaro, providing the perfect position from which to control the Evora. The Lotus command centre comes with an auxiliary trip computer and immobiliser with remote activated alarm fitted as standard. These include an advanced touchscreen multimedia system with satellite navigation, MP3 and iPod® connectivity, along with a reversing camera to avoid any unfavourable incidents when manoeuvring.
The Evora is powered by a 3.5-litre DOHC V6 VVT-i 24-valve engine, and is available in either six-speed manual or automatic versions in 276hp or 345hp. It can reach 0-60mph in less than five seconds when fitted with the latter unit, and has a maximum speed of up to 178mph.
Lotus DPM (Dynamic Performance Management) contributes to the vehicle's safety features, providing extra levels of stability when detected grip levels are exceeded. There is also the option for ISOFIX fittings, enabling the easy installation of child safety seats if required.
