The Kia Venga is a combination of family hatchback and compact MPV, developed with both pragmatism and style in mind. Dynamic and versatile, the Venga has impressive interior space and technological functions, as well as a smooth ride and Kia's distinctive design features. The storage space will accommodate any level of family luggage, and the performance is agile and responsive.
The exterior of the vehicle has been expertly crafted by Kia's chief designer. The imposing 'tiger-nose' grille comes with a striking black high gloss and chrome surround, creating an immediate impression of solidity and build quality. The wraparound black bezel headlights work alongside the rear tail-lights, creating unity of expression. The lines of the vehicle contribute to its aerodynamiclook, and the rear spoiler provides a higher level of stability and helps improve fuel economy.
The most notable aspect of the Venga's interior is its spacious nature, featuring comfortable seating for five occupants. The seats of the Venga can be folded in a number of different combinations, increasing the luggage space up to a maximum of 1,486 litres.
The cabin also features a variety of smaller spaces for storage, including deep front seatback pocketsand front map pockets as well as a 15-litre glove compartment. Every model features a six-speaker CD player as standard, complete with USB/AUX ports for additional music compatibility. The onboard trip computer displays important drive information, and a 7" satellite navigation touchscreen system is an optional extra.
The Venga comes with two 1.4 or 1.6 litre petrol or diesel engines, which offer impressive refinement and fuel economy of up to 64.2mpg with the EcoDynamics diesel unit. This engine also achieves just 117g/km of CO2 output, exempting owners from Vehicle Excise Duty in the first year of ownership and ensuring that they will pay just £30 a year thereafter. The 1.6 litre, 123bhp petrol engine, meanwhile, delivers a 0-62mph acceleration time of 10.6 seconds and a top speed of 114mph.
The Venga comes with an impressive range of safety features, including six airbags as standard and a number of Kia-developed driver safety systems. These include the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with a Brake Assist System (BAS), which combines with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) to provide maximum control of the vehicle in adverse conditions. ISOFIX child seat top tethers and anchor fixings are provided as standard, allowing easy installation of child safety seats.
