The Kia Sorento is a rugged and dependable seven-seater comprising five different models: the 'KX-1', 'KX-2', KX-2 Sat Nav', 'KX-3', and the top-of-the-range 'KX 4'. Now in its third generation, the Sorento’s muscular looks are accompanied by enhanced comfort, convenience and safety features.
The body of the Sorento is lower than previous models in the line, which brings the driver closer to the heart of the journey as well as enabling easier loading and unloading of luggage into the rear of the vehicle. A sleeker and more elegant profile emphasises the modern, while keeping the sturdily dependable air of its predecessors.
Inside the Kia Sorento, the cabin has been designed to ensure that all systems and functions are within easy reach at all times, ensuring a relaxing driving experience. Entertainment comes by way of the CD player with USB/AUX ports, which broadcasts through six internal speakers and can be controlled by the steering wheel-mounted buttons. The dual-zone automatic air conditioning has ioniser functions, allowing the driver and the front passenger to customise the temperature to their individual preferences.
The Sorento is powered by a 2.2-litre, 194bhp CRDi diesek engine equipped with all-wheel drive. Despite its hefty frame, the vehicle can achieve 0-60mph acceleration in 9.5 seconds and a theoretical top speed of 118mph. The combined fuel consumption of 47.9mpg and CO2 emissions of 155g/km are also impressive compared to many of the Sorento’s competitors.
Six airbags are fitted as standard on the Sorento range - twin front, twin side and curtain airbags, which work alongside a roll-over sensor to activate when needed. Active headrests are fitted to the front seats to prevent whiplash, and each of the seven seats is fitted with a three-point seatbelt. ISOFIX fittings are also included, giving easy installation to child safety seats. Safe driving systems include Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC), giving a greater degree of control to difficult driving situations.
