In the Picanto, Kia has designed a compact city car suitable for everyday use on any type of road, andit comes with as many standard features and technological functions as you’d expect from a much larger vehicle.
The Kia Picanto’s frame is sturdy and solid, its rounded lines creating an endearing yet capable profile. The headlights utilise LED technology for the daytime running lights, combining practicality with a chic sense of style. Kia's distinctive tiger-nosed grille gives the vehicle a commanding head-on presence. At the rear of the vehicle, the LED combination lights maintain visual continuity with the front, united by the character line that runs along the length of the Picanto.
Interior technology included with the Picanto includes an RDS radio and CD player with MP3 disc functionality, electric windows, and remote central door locking. A trip computer is standard equipment, and motorists have a choice between four and six speakers for the entertainment system. The wheelbase is longer than that of previous models, ensuring that passengers have plenty of legroom.
The steering wheel is crafted from luxurious leather, and has a tilt-adjustable feature as well as wheel-mounted controls for the car's infotainment functions. The Picanto’s 200 litres of luggage space can be extended to 605 litres, due to the split-folding rear seats. A 1.0 litre or 1.25 litre petrol engine powers the Picanto. The smaller of the two units can achieve combined fuel consumption of 67.3mpg and CO2 emissions of just 99g/km, whilst the larger engine delivers more power and can make 0-62mph in 11 seconds.
Six airbags are included as standard, and the body shell of the Picanto has been reinforced to become stable and rigid, with the lines of the vehicle serving as energy-absorbing corners in case of a collision. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is included, as is Electronic Stability Control (ESC), enabling the driver to always remain in control through these stability functions even when the road condition is not at its best.
