York JCT600 Manager Awarded Accreditation by Volkswagen

Andy Frost, manager of JCT600’s Volkswagen dealership in York has completed a two year training programme to become a fully accredited manager, approved by Volkswagen.

Andy, 37, has worked in the motor industry for over 21 years and has been with JCT600 since it acquired the York dealerships five years ago. He started his career as an apprentice technician serving his time with BMW before taking on a front-of-house role as service manager at Ford and subsequently moving into sales. In 1999, he joined the sales team of Volkswagen in York which was then part of the Layerthorpe Group, rising to the position of sales manager of its Audi dealership before moving back to the Volkswagen site as sales manager.

In 2007, Andy, supported by JCT600, joined Volkswagen’s development programme for managers. The two year course covered a wide range of skills including leadership, coaching, company and brand vision, business planning and performance management. As well as attending two day modules at the Volkswagen Group National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes, Andy undertook course work, projects and a final assessment.

“Andy is an excellent example of someone who has risen through the ranks through hard work and commitment and we are pleased to have been able to support his progress,” explained Andy Coulthurst, Group Sales Director of JCT600. “Being accredited by Volkswagen is an impressive achievement, Andy is a capable and talented manager who has more than earned this recognition.”

The training has given me a better understanding of the ‘bigger picture’ of managing a dealership and, particularly, the importance of remaining customer focussed in order to achieve both short and long term goals.”

Located at Centurion Park in Clifton Moor, Volkswagen York has a staff of 62 and offers a full service including new and used car sales, servicing, parts and MOT, as well as a bodyshop and a new and used commercial vehicle department. In addition, a full range of vehicle leasing and management services to the corporate market is available through JCT600 Contracts Limited.
