JCT600 Sponsors Historic Vehicle Rally for 10th Year and Supports Bradford Cancer Charity

  • Yorkshire car retailer JCT600 has celebrated its tenth year of sponsoring the Bradford to Morecambe Historic Vehicle Run which has this year succeeded in raising £ 1,308 so far for Bradford and Airedale Cancer Support.

The rally, which took place on Sunday 12 September, attracted more than 150 classic cars of all types and ages. The vintage vehicles set off on a wet and windy Sunday morning from Bradford for the 140 mile round trip to Morecambe and back as part of the town’s annual heritage weekend.

Starting as a humble cycle race in the 1950s, the event has now developed into a two day nostalgic extravaganza for classic car enthusiasts, attracting thousands of visitors to the seaside town.

Taking part this year were eight Porsche customers from JCT600’s Porsche dealership in Leeds with their classic cars which included a Porsche 911 Super Sport first registered at JCT600 Rawdon on 1st January 1987.

Porsche owner Geoff Benson, said: “We have had a great day out, the weather has been fantastic here and we really enjoyed the run over. Our afternoon tea at The Midland was excellent and, what’s more, it’s all in a good cause.”

All proceeds from the run will be donated to Bradford and Airedale Cancer Support, a local independent charity. It is the only organisation of its kind in the area providing face to face support services aimed at improving the quality of life for people affected by cancer and JCT600 chairman Jack Tordoff has been a patron for five years.
