Staff at car retailer JCT600 have completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and succeeded in raising £10,000 for Help for Heroes.
The 26-strong team comprised of directors and management from JCT600’s Bradford head office, as well as employees from the company’s dealerships.
Led by chief executive John Tordoff and his chocolate Labrador, Gem, the team beat their target to complete the grueling 5,000 foot climb within 12 hours, starting in Horton-in-Ribblesdale and scaling the summits of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
“The Three Peaks is no easy feat and it was an extremely tough day, but a fantastic experience,” said John Tordoff JCT600 chief executive. “Morale remained high among the group and despite aching feet and sore knees, we all completed the challenge and having raised such a huge sum for such a worthwhile cause, it was worth every minute.”
Help for Heroes was formed in 2007 to help those who have been wounded by Britain’s conflicts. It offers a comprehensive pathway for wounded, injured and sick personnel to launch back into the next phase of their lives.
“As well as raising funds to help this charity continue its excellent work, fundraising activities like this are also a fantastic opportunity to bring the team together and get everyone involved. We’d like to thank family, friends and colleagues for supporting us,” added Mr Tordoff.
With its head office in Bradford, the JCT600 group is a family business with 48 dealerships throughout Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and the North East. Its dealerships sell 22 of the world’s most respected brands such as Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen.
