JCT600 Celebrates Launch of the New Bentley Continental GT

  • Bentley Newcastle and Leodis Court Bentley in Leeds have celebrated the launch of the new Bentley Continental GT at special events held on 27th  January at the Newcastle showroom in Silverlink Park, Wallsend and 28th January within Centenary Pavilion at Leeds United Football Club.

The directors and management of JCT600 were joined by guests for a laser technique unveiling of the new model combined with a display of current and historic Bentley models showing the evolution of the classic marque.

From the earliest days of the British luxury car company, its models have set new standards in automotive design and engineering.  Long considered to be the pinnacle of grand touring, Bentley’s prestige motoring heritage includes the beautiful R-Type Continental in the 1950s and the Continental GT launched in the millennium year.
Available at the Silverlink Park showroom in Newcastle and the Leodis Court showroom in Leeds from March, the new Continental GT is a coupe that blends classic Bentley DNA with contemporary design and modern technology to give supercar performance and handcrafted luxury.

With increases in power, torque and fuel efficiency; the Continental GT’s engine is designed in a unique ‘W’ configuration and is the most compact 12-cylinder engine in the world.  It is capable of running on the latest environmentally sustainable bio-fuels due to its advanced FlexFuel technology, allowing it to run on gasoline, bioethanol (E85) or any combination of the two.
The new Continental GT features a 40:60 (front:rear) split power ratio, making it feel even more responsive and gives more controllable cornering.  It is even faster than its predecessor - with its power output raised to an immense 575PS (567bhp/423kW) and 700Nm (516lb ft) of torque.  In tandem with a new six-speed Quickshift transmission, gear change times are reduced by 50 per cent, it will launch from standstill to 60mph in just 4.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 197mph (318km/h).

“The new Continental GT will be welcomed by our customers, complementing the iconic Bentley range of beautifully designed, high performance cars,” comments Paul Gudge, Brand Manager of Bentley Newcastle.  “It is a stunning coupe which continues the marque’s commitment to grand touring by providing the ultimate in comfort combined with the very latest advances in technology.”

JCT600 Bentley Newcastle and  JCT600 Bentley Leeds have a combined total of 35 staff and offer a full range of services including new and used car sales, servicing, parts and MOT.
