Drive Safely this Summer with a Free Car Health Check

  • With the school holidays fast approaching, many people will soon be taking to the roads on their annual summer get-away. To help keep drivers safe, Yorkshire motor retailer JCT600 has launched a free visual health check to assist motorists in checking that cars are roadworthy before a long journey.

With two thirds of British people having their holidays in July and August, the UK’s roads can be extremely busy with break-downs adding to dangers and congestion. JCT600’s health check is carried out by a qualified technician who will undertake a fifteen minute visual inspection to spot some of the most common defects which might be missed by the driver during every day motoring. These checks include lights, under bonnet fluid levels, tyre tread and pressure as well as a visual check of the underside of the vehicle.

“While people are aware of the extra precautions needed for winter driving, many overlook the fact that during the summer holidays they will be taking to the roads in particularly busy conditions, and often driving significantly further than they or their cars are used to,” explained Steve Smith, aftersales manager for JCT600.

“Last year saw more people than usual holidaying in Britain as the ‘staycation’ gained popularity with a staggering 16 million cars on the roads during the August Bank Holiday alone. We want to make sure that whether motorists are making a short trip to the airport or driving the length of the country, they stay safe by using our experts to carry out a precautionary maintenance check.

“Available to all motorists, this free health check is offered at all of JCT600’s dealerships, just ring us for an appointment.”
