British luxury car company Bentley has awarded Richard Hirst of JCT600 in Leeds its most prestigious accolade - Richard has become one of only three Bentley Master Technicians in the world.
Richard, who lives in Dewsbury, has more than 30 years’ experience as a motor technician having worked in garages since he was 16. He specialised in prestige cars, joining JCT600’s Bentley dealership on Gelderd Road six years ago.
Having completed numerous Bentley training courses, in Spring 2009 Richard was chosen to train for the brand’s most highly sought-after award, Master Technician. The new qualification took a year to complete and included more than 40 hours of online study as well as visits to Bentley’s UK headquarters in Crewe. Richard had to sit over 20 exams before becoming the first engineer to be awarded Bentley Master Technician status.
“I am very proud to be amongst the first to achieve this recognition and grateful to JCT600 for supporting me throughout my training,” commented Richard Hirst. “It is extremely rewarding to be working on some of the best-engineered, hand crafted cars in the world; whether servicing one of the marque’s brand new models or maintaining a much-cherished 30 year old Bentley.”
Marc Frederick, after sales manager at JCT600 Bentley Leeds, comments: “It is testimony to both the commitment of Richard and JCT600 that we now have one of the highest qualified Bentley technicians in the world here in Leeds.
“These high performance cars include sophisticated electrical systems requiring skilled engineers like Richard to undertake complex diagnostic work. As well as enhancing our maintenance and repair service for clients, Richard will also provide valuable feedback to Bentley on the performance of its existing range as well as new models such as the Mulsanne which is due to be launched later this year.”
Located at Leodis Court, JCT600 Bentley Leeds has a staff of 25 and offers a full range of services including new and used car sales, servicing, parts and MOT.
